For all Ponniyin Selvan 2 fans out there, we have some amazing news in store. The makers have released some pictures from the promotion diaries. The Mani Ratnam film will hit the theatres on April 28. In the pics, shared on Instagram, team PS: 2 is seen having a blast in Delhi. From relishing kulfi to faluda, the album screams fun from miles away. We can spot Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the album. The caption attached to the pics read, “When we chill, we chill!” The geotag stated Delhi. Ponniyin Selvan 2 also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Prakash Raj, and Jayaram. The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name. The first part of the film narrates the early life of Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman. Ponniyin Selvan: I garnered much love from fans and critics.
In a follow-up post, team Ponniyin Selvan: 2 gave us an update about their next stop, which is Cochin. In the pic, Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram and Aishwarya Lekshmi are posing for a selfie. “The Cholas next stop is Cochin,” read the caption.
Trisha Krishnan, in interaction with NDTV, spoke about the plot in the upcoming instalment of the film. She said, “PS 2 is going to have a lot more romance and action to begin win. It is going to be so fast pace.” She added, “For me, PS 1 was still an introduction of every character and just putting them all together. PS 2 is when the story really begins.”
Speaking about her role, Chola princess Kundavai in the film, Trisha Krishnan added, “One of my best roles for sure. I mean a lot of people have said that and I have been very proud of some of the characters that I played in the past but it definitely goes down as one of the top 5.
