They allegedly forged the signature and letter pad of the dean of the medical college and the logo of the Odisha government to create fake documents, using which they duped the aspirants. They produced a number of fake documents, including joining letters, identity cards, etc., to gain the trust of the complainants.

One of the duped aspirants, Seema, informed Odisha TV, “I had applied for the receptionist post. I had also paid the money and was given a joining letter, ID card and other documents. But when I asked about the joining date, they started avoiding me.”

The duped aspirants have filed a complaint against three persons in connection with fraud at the Town Police station. Around four to five aspirants have been duped in the fake job racket scheme. The number of such aspirants is reported to go up in the coming days.

A government school teacher who was alleged to have been involved in the fake job racket scheme has refuted the allegations. The teacher said, “I have not taken any money from anyone. I don’t know why they are making such allegations.”

Confirming the incident, the Sundargarh Government Medical College dean said that the fraud has come to its notice. The dean said that they have asked the job aspirants to remain cautious of such fraudulent activities.

Daitari Routray, Dean of Sundargarh Medical College, said, “There is no role of the medical college in the matter and we have not issued any advertisement for any vacancy. The aspirants should verify the advertisements from authorities of the medical college.”
