Is the field of obstetrics and gynecology a good field for budding doctors to specialise in?

As we know medical sector has many important specialties, and obstetrics and gynaecology (OBGYN) is one of them. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is indeed considered a demanding field with unpredictable working hours and little social life.

Having said that this specialization has evolved very dynamically over the years and has become most popular not only among female medical aspirants but also among male aspirants.

A medical student’s decision to pursue a profession in obstetrics and gynaecology is influenced by a variety of circumstances, which reveals several distinct areas where the genders differ significantly, particularly in terms of lifestyle difficulties and practice trends.
