Neighbor performs 40 minutes CPR to save the life of a 74-Year-Old ManÂ
A 74-year-old Shashikant Dave, a resident of Chirabazar was saved by his neighbour when he collapsed near his home. His neighbour, who is a former nurse performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for 40 minutes till an ambulance arrived.
With NMC approval to 100 MBBS seats, Nagaland to get its first medical college
Nagaland has got the approval to set up its first medical college since it got statehood in 1963. In a major boost to medical education in the state, National Medical Commission (NMC), the apex medical body has given approval of letter of Intent for 100 MBBS seats at Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR) Kohima, under Nagaland University.
The medical college will begin its journey with 100 MBBS students from the academic session 2023-24

Holistic Medicine or Mixopathy: Delhi High Court to decide
The plea before the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the Centre to adopt the Indian Holistic Integrated Medicinal Approach, has now become a bone of contention to the practitioners of modern medicine, who are alleging it to be a step towards “mixopathy”.
While recently the Court granted six weeks of time to the Central Government to file its reply, doctors are concerned that integrating Modern Medicine with other branches of medicine including Homoeopathy and Ayurveda might prove detrimental to the public in general.

NMC probe sought over BFUHS report on deficiencies at Chintpurni Medical College
Writing to the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Punjab State Government has urged the apex medical education regulatory body to probe into the functioning of Chintpurni Medical College, now known as White Medical college, Pathankot.
This comes after recently, a five-member panel of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) alleged in a report that the medical college, which got the NMC nod last year, does not have adequate infrastructure and the careers of MBBS students at the medical college were getting jeopardized because of the absence of patients, infrastructure, and teachers.
