Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan will mark the Bollywood debut of Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak. The rising star, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, revealed the one rule that Salman has for all the female members of the film on the sets. The actor is very strict about the dress code and he has asked women associated with his film to “be covered, like good, proper girls” when on the sets. Palak was asked about her mother’s reaction to her selection for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Reacting to rumours about Shweta Tiwari crying after hearing the big news, Palak said, “My mother didn’t cry, and that’s the good thing. Because normally mummy roti rehtin hain and cheekhti rehtin hain par jab unko pata laga ki mai Salman sir ke set pe jaane wali hu, itni shaant maine aaj tak unko nahi dekha (mom generally cries a lot and gets tensed much. But when she got to know I was going to Salman sir’s set, I have never seen her that calm in my whole life). Bilkul tranquil. She was like ‘jao jao (go).’ She has been very happy with Salman sir.”
Palak Tiwari then explained that her mother was calm throughout the shooting for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan because of the dress rule Salman Khan has for all on the sets. “Like every desi mother ever, she has always been very critical of what I wear. When I was AD-ing (assistant directing) with Salman sir on Antim, not many people know this, Salman sir had a rule: Koi bhi ladki mere set pe ho (any girl on my set), neckline should be here (pointing towards the collarbone.) All the girls should be covered, like good proper girls. My mom saw me wearing full tee, joggers, full covered and going to set and she was like ‘how you are dressed so well?’ I told her ‘Salman sir ke set pe rule hai (Salman sir has this rule on set) and she was like ‘wow! Very good’,” added Palak.
When asked the reason behind the dress code, Palak Tiwari said: “He is a traditionalist. Of course, he’s like, ‘Jo pehenna hai pehno (wear whatever you want),’ but he’s also like my girls should always be protected. If there are men around who he doesn’t personally know, it’s not his personal space where he doesn’t trust everyone, he’s like, the girl should be safe, always.”
Palak Tiwari also said the actor is like a “father” to her and “the last person to know about any of my romances would be Salman sir. If he knew about my romances, he wouldn’t be behaving like this. He has always told me ‘no boys for you.’ He has always been like ‘you are very young, work.’”
Palak Tiwari, in the same interview, also cleared the speculation around Salman Khan’s statement, where he said, “Palak toh gir chuki hai (Palak has already fallen in love).” She said it was meant for singer Palak Muchhal, who recently got married. She was also on the stage during the trailer launch of the film.
