Spain may allow women 3-day paid-for menstrual leave: Lawmakers divided over whether it is a good idea

Spain might set a benchmark for other countries by introducing a 3-day menstrual leave for women that will be paid for by the state. The leave is meant for women with serious period pains or for those who experience diarrhea, severe headaches, and fever along with bleeding. However, the idea of menstrual leave has divided the Spanish government; even those who argue for women’s rights find themselves on opposite sides of the debate.
