Preparation of the patient for Rasayana therapy :
It is critical for anyone contemplating rasayana therapy to undergo samshodhana (detoxification) as a pre-treatment procedure. Samshodhana cleanses the body and mind. Judith Haritaki: (Embelica officinalis)
Haritaki is so named because it cures all diseases.
It was renamed Abhaya in recognition of its action, as it bestows permanent long life on those who use it constantly. It is also referred to as Vijaya, as it is the conqueror of all diseases.
Fresh, round, and heavy haritaki fruits are always preferable. It should float in water and be disease-free. These fruits are flavorful and potent.
Slit the fruit into two or three pieces and remove the seed.
These fruit pieces are cooked in four parts water until they become soft. They should then be removed and allowed to cool completely. This is then combined with one part ghee and one part honey and set aside for three days. It should be consumed later in order to preserve digestion capacity. Following the digestion of this rasayana, shstika sahli rice with cow’s milk is consumed. By using this rasayna, one can avoid wrinkles, baldness, and premature hair greying. This results in excellent memory, vision, and a long, healthy life.
Ghee (clarified butter): is the most well-known Rasayana and is an excellent rejuvenator and promoter of longevity. Additionally, it aids in digestion, has a calming effect on the nervous system, improves the glow of the skin, increases memory capacity, aids in the retention of grasped information, and increases ojus. Ghee has a high absorption rate and is an excellent vehicle for transporting nutrients from food to the tissue. Dates and figs are well-known for their high energy content. Additionally, they aid in the development of body tissues and increase hemoglobin percentage. As a result, consume two to three dates or figs per day.
Almonds: These are a nutrient-dense and life-sustaining food. Consume five to six almonds daily to increase your energy and strength. Almonds have been shown to help lower blood cholesterol levels.
Lassi is a drink made by combining two parts water and one part yogurt. It can be sweetened by adding a teaspoon of sugar or honey and a pinch of ground cardamom. If you’re not a fan of sweet flavors, you can make a delectable salt and sour beverage by adding roasted cumin seeds and a pinch of salt. It is an excellent nutritive and digestive beverage that can be consumed with meals or as a dessert following a meal.
